Honba Yuki Tsumugi
Kinchaku (Japanese traditional purse)

Yuki Tsumugi is a Japanese silk weaving technique found in Kinu region. Fabrics crafted by Yuki Tsumugi technique tend to be light and warm with a characteristics of stiffness and softness. Creating fabrics employing Yuki Tsumugi technique takes several stages and time for each process is done manually. Perhaps the most intriguing fact surrounding Yuki Tsumugi is that for every fabric, hand crafted thread is used for both horizontal and vertical thread in weaving process and such method cannot be found in any other weaving technique. And such hard work and dedication was recognized by UNESCO and since 2010, it is designated as one of the intangible properties of the world.
